The one thing people always ask me...
I have three "jobs", as in three main things I make money from:
coaching and mentoring (Power of Mum®)
my professional singing
my secondary school music teaching, coaching and directing ensembles
I also blog, have a podcast, am starting to be invited to speak at events, all under the POM umbrella (and have got lots more plans!) This stuff is starting to be monetised and it's very exciting!
And this is the thing I get asked all the time:
"How do you get everything done with two small kids and three jobs?"
The answer is...well, the truth is, I fit a lot of bits in around the edges. I often have to work in the evenings, but I certainly don't work every evening, and I make plenty of time to switch off.
Being a mum has made me much, much more efficient, so I just Get. Stuff. Done.
I go back to my why on an almost daily basis - and if the why is changing then I change it up.
I plan. And plan. And schedule. And diarise. And organise. And then am happy to be flexible if it all goes t*** up.
I'm far better at saying no to things now - "great networking opportunity" that means nothing to me? Nope, not for me.
I am learning to prioritise sleep. This is essential to my mental and physical health, and to keeping my family happy!
I have flexibility, balance and choice now. I didn't feel like that before I made the decision to celebrate all of these things.
Each thing I do nourishes me - and that's amazing - and I am bloody lucky.
How about you? How do you get things done? I'd love to know.
And, ok. I lied. I made up a click-bait title...I actually get asked two things. Here's the second:
"Why don't you just commit to doing one thing?"
Want to know the answer? I'll address it in another post very soon...
